Spindletop Refuge is dedicated to the successful rehabilitation and rehoming of homeless, abused and neglected dogs. We at Spindletop have the philosophy that a dog is far better off in his/her own home over being dumped in a shelter. If advice and training tips and referrals is going to keep that dog in its home, we are all for it

There is a waiting list of many weeks to months for dogs needing to enter our rescue program and we accept only strays, court ordered and shelter dogs and dogs from other rescue groups.  Please read the FAQ page before contacting us as it answers basic adoption questions.  If you need to place a dog or need a local rescue, click here.
Training, Boarding, Volunteer Info Leah Purcell is the Spindletop Executive Director and handles all board and train, and boarding requests. Due to our new construction at the new facility, funds are limited so PayPal donations are preferred at this time but all donations are most gratefully accepted.No amount is too small. We at Spindletop try and do different fundraisers through the year such as the Toys For Pits campaign. The one fundraiser we have all year long and is our main one would be the Cafe Press shop. The proceeds from the sales go directly to help care for the dogs.
