| The Devastation of KatrinaThese albums are the story of Katrina in photos taken by Leah as she worked to rescue and reunite dogs after the hurricane. There is a special album for all the reunites that Leah and Spindletop did as well. There is also an album of PDF files that tell stories about the work Leah was doing written by staff at Best Friends. |

| Our New FacilitySpindletop finally realized a dream and bought a large parcel of land in Willis TX. The facility was under construction for 2 years and has state of the art accommodations for the dogs. There is a lake for swimming, ponds, streams, large play yards of an acre eack, agility and training pens, larger air conditioned kennels, trees and acres of green grass and no Houston smog.
This album has the construction photos and pre construction as well. We even have housing for our full time staff, something we were never able to offer before. The dogs are already happier and so are we.
A new program we are launching is the ability for businesses and sponsors to buy a kennel, play yard, portion of the new kennel buildings. Each item will have a brass plaque with the name and date of the sponsorship and those photos will be in the Thank You album in this category. The cost of construction of the new facility is in the neighborhood of half a million dollars. We truly would welcome any help people are willing to give! |
